　　毒枭“矮子”逃离监狱，并得到了政府的支持，成为贩毒集团联盟领袖。然而并非所有集团都同意加入，一场战争就此展开。

　　本劇集於 1999 年在美國開始播放，以外星人的元素來反影及描寫青少年在成長上所面對的各種問題，雖然此劇得獎不多，但其受歡迎程度不弱，尤其是以女歌手 Dido 所唱的主題曲已賣得滿堂紅。本劇於 2002 年播影完畢，合共有三個季度。

　　在名为“玩具屋”的非法地下组织中，每年都有大量的“生物体”被制造出来，这些生物体表面上和人类无异，却是没有思想和灵魂的“玩具娃娃”，他们被租赁给世界各地的黑道富豪，用以完成各种各样或是复杂或是危险的秘密任务。任务完成后的生物体会被送回玩具屋，消抹掉所有的记忆，重新变为“傀儡”状态。
　　性感美丽的艾科（艾丽莎·杜什库 Eliza Dushku 饰）就是这些“玩具娃娃”中的一员，与其他伙伴不同的是，偶然间，艾科竟然产生了自我，面对自己的处境和状态，艾科的心中充满了疑惑，这让玩具屋的高层感到十分不妙。与此同时，名为保罗（塔莫·潘尼凯 Tahmoh Penikett 饰）的联邦探员也盯上了艾科。

　　讲述俄罗斯历史上唯一一位被冠以“大帝”之名的女皇叶卡捷琳娜二世·阿列克谢耶芙娜的崛起，以及她和丈夫彼得三世·费奥多罗维奇的关系。凯瑟琳10岁时被介绍给了彼得，作为欧洲皇室使用婚姻控制国家间政治联系的工具。虽然她承认一开始觉得他很讨厌，但在她满16岁之后，两人结婚了。
　　两人婚后生活动荡，传闻称都有婚外情，彼得的脾气变得让人难以忍受，在他登上俄罗斯王位仅6个月后，凯瑟琳组织反对者推翻了他，开始了自己34年的成功统治，而彼得被暗杀。

　　Who is God? Where did we come from? Why does evil happen? What happens when we die? Every human being on earth has asked themselves these questions at some point, and most likely each person has found a different answer.This series will take viewers on a trip around the world to explore different cultures and religions on the ultimate quest to uncover the meaning of life, God and all these big questions in between.
　　The series seeks to understand how religion has evolved throughout the course of civilization, and in turn how religion has shaped the evolution of society. Although in our current geopolitical landscape, religion is often seen as something that divides, the series illuminates the remarkable similarities among different faiths, even those that seem to be in staunch contrast. This is a quest for God: to shed light on the questions that have puzzled, terrified and inspired mankind, not to mention Freeman himself.
　　Each episode is centered on a different big question about the divine:
　　Creation – Are there similarities among the religious creation stories from around the world? How do they compare with the scientific theory of the creation of the cosmos and the dawn of civilization?
　　Who Is God? – How has the perception of God evolved over human history? Is God just an idea, and if so, can we find evidence of a divine presence in our brains?
　　Evil – What is the root of evil and how has our idea of it evolved over the millennia? Is the devil real? The birth of religion may be inextricably tied to the need to control evil.
　　Miracles – Are miracles real? For many believers, miracles are the foundation of their faith. Others regard miracles as merely unlikely events on which our brains impose divine meaning. Belief in miracles, however we define them, could be what gives us hope and drives us to turn possibility into reality.
　　End of Days – Violent upheaval and fiery judgment fill popular imagination, but was the lore of apocalypse born out of the strife that plagued the Middle East two millennia ago? The true religious meaning of the apocalypse may not be a global war, but an inner revelation.
　　Resurrection – How have beliefs in the afterlife developed, and how has our reaction to the afterlife changed the way we live this life? Now that science is making such rapid advances, we may soon be confronted with digital resurrection. What will that do to our beliefs?
　　To explore each of these topics, host and narrator Freeman went on the ground to some of humanity’s greatest religious sites, including Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall, India’s Bodhi Tree, Mayan temples in Guatemala and the pyramids of Egypt. He traveled with archaeologists to uncover the long-lost religions of our ancestors, such as those at the 7500 B.C. Neolithic settlement Çatalhöyük in Turkey. He immersed himself in religious experiences and rituals all around the world, and became a test subject in scientific labs to examine how the frontiers of neuroscience are intersecting the traditional domain of religion.

　　A year has passed, Lord Glendenning has died and Moray is working in Paris. Recently married to the philandering Tom Weston, who has a young daughter Flora, Katherine, now owner of the Paradise, summons Moray to return and revitalize the store, which is losing trade. On arrival back he proposes to Denise, who is still employed at the Paradise, and Audrey proposes to Edmund. New staff number shop-girl Susy and store-man Nathaniel, the former in love with the latter, unaware that he is a saboteur for Fenton, a rival tradesman seeking to buy the Paradise. Katherine is aware that Weston also wants the sale and urges Moray to make a success of the grand reopening. Suspicious of Nathaniel's actions, Denise exposes him, leading to his dismissal and a hugely profitable first day under Moray's management. Seeing its potential Weston calls off his deal with Fenton.

　　A young woman is uprooted from her idyllic village in Southern England, has her eyes opened to class warfare in the industrial North, and receives a surprising marriage proposal.
